Outreach Funding Program: Equal Participation as a Democratic Principle
The EuroGames Frankfurt 2028 see themselves not only as a major sporting event but as a democratic project that enables participation for all. But we know: not everyone has the same conditions to take part. Financial barriers, political repression, health limitations or lack of visibility can prevent participation. That is why we created the Outreach Funding Program – a needs-based and inclusive system that supports people who otherwise could not attend.
Our Outreach Program specifically targets marginalized groups that are often structurally disadvantaged and would not be able to participate without support. These include:
• women+, who are often underrepresented in sport and face specific barriers
• young people in education
• TIN people (trans, inter and non-binary), who often experience discrimination and need additional support
• people from Eastern and Southern Europe facing political repression, visa barriers or financial constraints
• people with disabilities, for whom accessible participation often involves additional costs
• people affected by repression or discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, origin or political beliefs.
Our Outreach Program uses a flexible and transparent funding system tailored to individual needs. We use various tools to reduce personal, financial, political and health‑related barriers:
• waivers or reductions of participation fees
• travel grants
• hosted housing – free accommodation with local hosts
• visa support for participants from countries with complex entry requirements
• on‑site support to ensure that all participants feel comfortable and safe – from arrival to departure.
Funding is allocated through a structured process:
• self‑assessment via questionnaire
• an evaluation and scoring system that enables fair ranking
• allocation based on need and available budget, ensuring that funds reach those who need them most.
Our outreach team works professionally but entirely on a voluntary basis – this means that 100% of all donations and contributions that reach us directly flow into the program without any deductions. There are no administrative costs, no commissions, no fees. Every euro benefits the participants. The Outreach Funding Program of EuroGames Frankfurt 2028 is more than a tool for participation – it is a sign of solidarity and a contribution to a fairer world of sports.
We plan to open the application period for applicants in the first quarter of 2027.

Outreach‑Förderprogramm: Gleichberechtigte Teilhabe als demokratisches Prinzip
Die EuroGames Frankfurt 2028 verstehen sich nicht nur als großes Sportereignis, sondern als demokratisches Projekt, das Teilhabe für alle ermöglicht. Doch wir wissen: Nicht alle Menschen haben die gleichen Voraussetzungen, um teilnehmen zu können. Finanzielle Hürden, politische Repression, gesundheitliche Einschränkungen oder mangelnde Sichtbarkeit können eine Teilnahme verhindern. Deshalb haben wir das Outreach‑Förderprogramm geschaffen – ein bedarfsorientiertes und inklusives System, das Menschen unterstützt, die sonst nicht dabei sein könnten.
Unser Outreach‑Programm richtet sich gezielt an marginalisierte Gruppen, die strukturell benachteiligt sind und ohne Unterstützung nicht teilnehmen könnten. Dazu gehören:
• Frauen+, die im Sport häufig unterrepräsentiert sind und spezifische Barrieren erleben
• junge Menschen in Ausbildung
• TIN‑Personen (trans, inter und nicht-binär), die oft Diskriminierung erfahren und zusätzliche Unterstützung benötigen
• Menschen aus Ost- und Südeuropa, die mit politischer Repression, Visabeschränkungen oder finanziellen Engpässen konfrontiert sind
• Menschen mit Behinderungen, für die barrierefreie Teilnahme häufig mit zusätzlichen Kosten verbunden ist
• Personen, die aufgrund sexueller Orientierung, Geschlechtsidentität, Herkunft oder politischer Überzeugungen Diskriminierung erfahren
Unser Outreach‑Programm nutzt ein flexibles und transparentes Fördersystem, das individuell auf Bedürfnisse eingeht. Wir setzen verschiedene Instrumente ein, um persönliche, finanzielle, politische und gesundheitliche Barrieren abzubauen:
• Erlass oder Reduzierung von Teilnahmegebühren
• Reisekostenzuschüsse • Hosted Housing – kostenlose Unterbringung bei lokalen Gastgeber*innen
• Visumshilfe für Teilnehmende aus Ländern mit komplexen Einreisebestimmungen
• Unterstützung vor Ort, damit sich alle Teilnehmenden von der Ankunft bis zur Abreise sicher und willkommen fühlen.
Die Vergabe der Fördermittel erfolgt über einen strukturierten Prozess:
• Selbsteinschätzung über einen Fragebogen
• ein Bewertungs- und Punktesystem, das eine faire Reihenfolge ermöglicht
• Zuteilung nach Bedarf und verfügbarem Budget, damit die Unterstützung diejenigen erreicht, die sie am dringendsten benötigen
Unser Outreach‑Team arbeitet professionell, aber vollständig ehrenamtlich – das bedeutet: 100 % aller Spenden und Beiträge, die uns direkt erreichen, fließen ohne Abzüge in das Programm. Es gibt keine Verwaltungskosten, keine Provisionen, keine Abzüge. Jeder Euro kommt den Teilnehmenden zugute. Das Outreach‑Förderprogramm der EuroGames Frankfurt 2028 ist mehr als ein Instrument zur Teilnahme – es ist ein Zeichen der Solidarität und ein Beitrag zu einer gerechteren Sportwelt.
Wir planen, die Bewerbungsphase für Antragstellende im ersten Quartal 2027 zu eröffnen.
